On Thursday the 25th of March, Uncle David held a Welcome to Country and a Smoking Ceremony at our school. This was to pay respect and acknowledge Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people past, present and future. The Smoking Ceremony symbolizes the cleansing of our bodies, eradicating any evil spirits and promoting protection and wellbeing.
Students throughout the school have been developing an understanding of reconciliation from both a Catholic and Indigenous perspective.
