Anzac Day 2018

29 April 2018 | General Interest

Anzac DayAnzac Day March

Our school captains and vice captains represented our school community at the Springvale Anzac service on Sunday 22 April. The captains read a prayer and the vice captains laid a wreath at the cenotaph.

One of our classes made cards of appreciation to returned service men and women. These cards were distributed at various RSLs in Melbourne.

As a school we commemorated Anzac Day with our own service on Tuesday 24 April. We prayed for all men and women who have fought and served our country.

Anzac treeWe prayed for peace in the world and thanked God for our country, Australia, and the peace and freedom we enjoy.

Our school registered over 18 months ago to be given a Gallipoli Oak tree. This was an offer made to all schools in Victoria to mark the 100th Anniversary of the troops landing at Gallipoli. Our Year 3/4MH students planted the tree this week and presented their assembly focussing on ANZAC Day and its significance.
